Grevillea ‘Robyn Gordon’

With its richly red, cylindrical flowers, displayed against dissected, glossy green leaves, this handsome hybrid provides a cheerful splash of colour this month. In the wilds of Australasia, Grevillea flowers attract a range of pollinating creatures, including birds, beetles, moths, bees, ants, and even marsupials. Most grevilleas naturally occur where bushfires are frequent, and rely upon seed germination for their survival. The only way of propagating the cultivar ‘Robyn Gordon’, however, is from cuttings. With regular pruning and a well-drained compost, this plant will look superb in an indoor container. However, be aware that out of all the grevilleas, ‘Robyn Gordon’ has a particular tendency to cause irritation of the skin.
