Correa is a genus of about twenty species of evergreen shrubs and small trees found in scrub and open woodland in Southern and Eastern Australia and Tasmania. Ideally suited for container cultivation, C. alba is a freely branching shrub with rich green leaves, smooth above and finely hairy beneath. From early summer to late autumn it bears short bell-shaped, pink tinted, waxy white flowers. If grown outside, this half hardy shrub is best in a situation where it is protected from frost in well-drained, neutral to acid soil in full sun. Correa was named after Jose Francisco Correa de Serra, a Portuguese botanist from the 18th century. Keep it pot bound to encourage flowering and grow on the dry side.
